KUALA LUMPUR: National No. 2 Delia Arnold crashed out in the quarter-finals of the Irish Open on Thursday – but not before bagging the prized scalp of former world champion Vanessa Atkinson. Delia lost 5-11, 8-11, 9-11 to world No. 9 Madeline Perry of Ireland in the last eight. But the Malaysian can be proud of her achievement, especially after disposing of world No. 12 Atkinson of Holland 12-10, 11-5, 11-9 in the first round on Wednesday. In the semi-finals, Perry will face seventh seed Jaclyn Hawkes of New Zealand while top seed Alison Waters of England will meet compatriot Sarah Kippax.
